Manager of Social Media
Job Summary
To manage Visit Orlando’s social media efforts by creating compelling content, managing paid and organic campaigns, and fostering community engagement across all major platforms. This role is responsible for driving brand awareness, audience growth, and campaign performance through strategic planning, creative execution, and team leadership. The Manager of Social Media will collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners to ensure alignment with marketing goals, while mentoring a high-performing team and staying ahead of emerging trends and technologies in the digital landscape.

Responsibilities
- Support the Sr Director of Social Media & Content with developing and executing paid social strategies across all markets.
- Collaborate with our marketing team and agency partners to align on messaging priorities, campaign timing, and audience strategies, ensuring paid social efforts effectively support marketing initiatives.
- Oversee the coordination of campaign asset needs by guiding the Social Media Representative for Paid Social, ensuring collaboration with creative and content teams, timely delivery to the agency, and compliance with brand standards.
- Create social content, photos and short form videos, for organic, boosted, and paid campaigns.
- Work with Social Media Representative to manage social media content planning, calendar, and development, including creating original content for all social channels, key media events, stories, and imagery across the destination.
- Manage and enhance Visit Orlando’s presence across all pertinent B2C social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest.
- Leverage social media measurement tools to analyze the ongoing performance of these channels, provide progress reports, and make adjustments as needed.
- Manage two social media representatives and an intern, collaborate with agency partners, and partner with social media creative agency.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Lead the collaboration with content creators to narrate a diverse story of Orlando across social media platforms, identifying suitable creators, fostering relationships, and orchestrating content themes aligned with the destination's message.
- Keep abreast of current best practices and trends in social media. Based on those findings, proactively review and provide strategic recommendations for our content and strategy enhancements.
- Manage the communities of Orlando fans to expand the reach of our messaging.
Supervision of Others
Manages two social media representatives and an intern.
Qualification Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Public Relations or Marketing field preferred
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience planning and executing successful, creative social media campaigns and strategies in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and mentoring teams.
- Experience managing numerous social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Extensive experience developing and managing paid social media campaigns, including budget oversight, audience targeting, and performance optimization.
- Proven track record of creating compelling, breakthrough visual content, including video, animation, and photography.
- Strong collaborative skills for working inter-departmentally and building relationships within the community
- Extensive understanding of social industry trends and tactics
- Experience with analyzing, reporting to leadership, and applying learnings from social media management and analytics tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Technical/Production Capabilities:
- Strong Internet and computer skills.
- Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite;
- Working knowledge of video editing software;
- Ability to work in a Mac environment;
- Knowledge of a variety of file formats and data conversion utilities.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers or employees of the organization. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Creative writing skills. Excellent editing and proofing skills. High attention to detail. Strong organizational skills
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Work Environment:
The environment for this job is typical for an office and does not result in exposure to conditions out of the normal office environment.
