As we gather this Thanksgiving holiday, we’re reminded of what truly makes Orlando unbelievably real: our people. The dedication of our team members, member organizations and hospitality partners continues to power record-breaking successes and elevate our destination on the global stage.
Orlando once again claims the top spot as the top domestic destination for Thanksgiving travel, according to AAA’s 2025 holiday forecast. With 81.8 million Americans expected to travel at least 50 miles from home, our region’s popularity underscores the strength of our tourism industry and its vital role in driving economic impact across Central Florida.
Additionally, Orlando’s leadership in travel and hospitality is affirmed by several honors this season:
- Visit Orlando was named a winner in the Best of Meetings Today Awards, recognizing our outstanding service to meeting planners nationwide. The Orange County Convention Center earned top marks in the Best Convention Centers category.
- For the fourth consecutive year, Orlando was honored in the Good Housekeeping Travel Awards, celebrated for offering “thrills and tranquility” through new attractions, culinary excellence and outdoor experiences. Several other hotels, resorts and attractions were also awarded.
- And just in time for the holidays, Travel + Leisure named Orlando one of the Best Christmas Towns in the Country for Families, spotlighting our world-class festive offerings.
The magic behind the accolades are our destination’s hundreds of thousands of hospitality professionals who dedicate their days, nights and even holidays to helping others create lasting memories.
At Visit Orlando, our team is the most important ingredient in our recipe for success. Learn more directly from our team in this video, as they share their stories about how they work to make a difference every day — for travelers, clients and the entire Central Florida region.
As we look ahead to the holidays and a new year, Visit Orlando remains committed to driving economic growth, elevating our destination and giving back in meaningful ways. Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping us make Central Florida a better place to live, work and visit.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
