Orlando’s New Pompeii Exhibit – One of Only Three in the U.S.
Orlando will be one of only three places in the country to see Pompeii: The Immortal City, an experience that plunges visitors into the destruction of the ancient city of Pompeii, during a limited run at the Orlando Science Center Oct. 26 through January 24, 2021. Guests are immersed in spectacular moments such as being in the center of an erupting volcano, and become archeologists sifting through ruins. Timed entry limits capacity and offers people ample time and distance when exploring.
Foodies will love the add-on event series, Pompeii’s Table -- featuring cuisine by local chefs, who bring to life meals from ancient Italy with only ingredients that were used by 1st century Pompeii cooks.
New Upscale Dining at Hotels, from James Beard to Chef’s Tables
Consistently voted one of Best Food Cities in America by WalletHub, Orlando has opened new restaurants at several upscale hotels, for an ideal luxury getaway where you never even leave the resort. The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes unveiled Knife & Spoon -- a new concept from Chef John Tesar, who is a James Beard Award semifinalist and Top Chef contestant. The brand new JW Marriott Bonnet Creek hotel opened signature Sear + Sea steakhouse, with handcrafted cocktails and elevated service including a Chef's table.

Hey, Floridians! Did You Know?
You may think you know Orlando... but did you know we were rated as having the “Best Bacon in Florida” according to Taste of Home magazine? Hinckley’s Fancy Meats in Downtown Orlando -- and owner who has led James Beard award-winning and Michelin-starred kitchens -- showcases the tender bacon, with pork bellies from locally bred pigs, in its acclaimed sandwiches. (Added fun fact: The restaurant also offers free PB&J sandwiches to “anyone in need, no questions asked.”)
